A new "Internet Purchase Exchange Zone" has been set up in Kincardine.
South Bruce OPP Detachment Commander Inspector Dana Earley says the zone was created so that transactions over the internet can take place in public, as opposed to a secluded area.
The OPP's new "Internet Purchase Exchange Zone" is marked with posted signs and painted parking spots at the north east corner of the public parking lot in front of the South Bruce OPP Kincardine detachment.
Earley says to address the problem of the ever-growing number of transactions that start online and end in person sometimes badly, cities and businesses are working to establish monitored meeting places for people to conduct those transactions.
This idea is gaining traction around the country, with many other police departments and city governments implementing similar safe meeting places for online-based transactions.
