Still Looking For Dog In Bite Situation

Meaford | by Kevin Bernard

Public Health is still looking for the owner of a dog involved in a biting incident in Meaford.

The Grey Bruce health unit is continuing the search for the owner of a dog that bit someone in Meaford.

The incident happened last Friday (July 6th) at 7:45pm.

A man was bitten by a large black male dog of unknown mixed breed.

The dog was tied to a pole outside the Rexall Pharmacy, 54 North Sykes Street, Meaford.

It was wearing a collar and leash and is believed to be with a man,  possibly the owner.

The Health Unit needs to confirm the dog is not infected with rabies.

By verifying the health of the dog, the victim can avoid receiving the post-exposure rabies treatment.
