OPP say two people have been charged after a chase involving an OPP helicopter near Teeswater.
Just after 6 Tuesday morning, South Bruce and Huron OPP were conducting a criminal investigation in the area of Concession Road 4 at Side Road 25 South near Teeswater.
Uniform and Emergency Response Team officers were on the scene when a vehicle entered the investigation area and was driving in a dangerous manner.
The OPP Aviation Services were called in to help ground units by following the vehicle's location.
Units from South Bruce, Huron, Perth, Wellington and other neighbouring Police Agencies received real time updates from the Eurocopter EC135.
OPP say while the vehicle was travelling on Wellington Road 87 towards Harriston it drove into a cornfield, attempting to evade the helicopter.
The flight crew continued to monitor the two suspects as they fled on foot through cornfields and wooded areas.
Police and two canine units tracked and arrested a man and a woman.
Wellington Road 87 was closed between Highway 23 and Minto School Road 7 for a period of time.
24-year-old Damien Dallas Yorke-Thomas of Huron-Kinloss was held for bail on numerous charges, including:
Two counts of Flight from Police
Two counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000
Two counts of Driving while Disqualified
Two counts of Dangerous Driving
Assault a Peace Officer with a Weapon
Possession of Methamphetamine
Mischief under $5000
Failing to comply with a Probation Order
A 27-year-old Huron-Kinloss woman also faces charges of possession of property obtained by crime and possession of methamphetamine.
