Both Hanover and Brockton are holding their own Fall and Winter Registration events tonight.
It’s one stop shopping for all your Fall and Winter recreational, sports and activity needs.
Hanover Program Development Coordinator Laura Webb encourages parents, youth, kids and adults alike to come out and see what is being offered in the local community.
There is no shortage of choices including: swimming, dancing, gymnastics, martial arts, minor sports such as hockey, ringette, figure skating and youth basketball as well as performing arts, literacy clubs, curling and marching bands.
Webb says the goal to keep residents active and healthy.
She says there are new guidelines out that states everyone needs at least one hour of daily physical activity, something Webb says is not being met in Grey and Bruce.
She says signing up for a recreational program, team or sport is a great step towards reaching that goal.
And best of all, she says by housing all of the groups, organizations and teams under one roof it just makes it easier for parents, kids and adults to see what is being offered.
It’s also an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about specific groups, teams, organizations and clubs.
In Hanover Registration Night runs Thursday from 7 until 8:30 at the P&H Centre with up to 20 groups and organization participating.
In Brockton Registration Night it runs from 6 until 8:30 at the Walkerton Community Centre.
Brockton, along with municipal recreational programs and minor sports, residents can also check out figure skating, the Special Olympics as well as some of the programming offered by the local gyms.
