A police-involved shooting in Whitechurch early this morning is under investigation by the province's Special Investigation Unit.
The SIU says shortly after midnight, a Wingham OPP officer stopped a vehicle on Whitechurch Street.
A 30-year-old male passenger exited the vehicle, but the driver did not and took off.
According to an SIU release the 30-year-old man was shot by the officer.
Provincial Police say one officer and one suspect attended a local hospital where they were both treated and later released with non-life threatening injuries.
OPP say two men have since been taken into custody.
Police says a portion Whitechurch Street between Highway 86 and South Kinloss Avenue will remain closed this evening for the investigation.
