Owen Sound Police Bust Thief, Investigate Break-In

Owen Sound | by Bayshore News Staff

One homeowner had their beer stolen

Owen Sound police arrested a 25-year-old Hamilton man for possession of stolen property yesterday.

Police say they were called to a theft sometime overnight on Wednesday where power tools were stolen from a parked car on 6th Avenue East.

The suspect tried to pawn the stolen property for cash and was later arrested by police downtown.

Police say the man arrived in Owen Sound from Hamilton about a month ago.

Meantime, police say they are investigating a couple recent break-ins.

In one incident on Tuesday, police say someone broke in through a window of an attached garage at a 6th Avenue East residence, making off with the homeowner's beer.

Police say another attempted break-in occurred in the early morning hours on Thursday at a 15th Street East residence, but the culprit was not successful gaining access through the garage.
