Mudmoiselle had its best year both in terms of turnout and fundraising.

The fourth annual women's only event at the former ski hill at Talisman Mountain Springs Inn & Golf in Kimberley had more than 480 participants trek through the 5-km course on Saturday.

Canadian Cancer Society Community Fundraising Specialist Allison Taylor says that is the most participants the event has ever seen.

Many of the ladies participating came from across Grey Bruce.

"We had teams comes from Port Elgin, Wiarton and Owen Sound," Taylor explains. "We also had one team come from as far as Saskatchewan this year."

The event also shattered fundraising totals in previous years by bringing in nearly $100,000.

Taylor says in the past three years combined, the event brought in $220,000.

The money goes to support Cancer research, information services and support programs.
