Blue Fentanyl Arrest In Owen Sound

Police have arrested a Hanover man & a Southampton man in Owen Sound.

Owen Sound police say two men are in custody after Blue Fentanyl and prohibited knives were seized.

Police say at about 2:30 on Thursday afternoon (Apr 11th) officers were on the lookout for drug activity downtown.

They say they saw a 39 year old Hanover man who was known to be wanted on two longstanding arrest warrants, get out of a rental vehicle in a municipal parking lot.  

Police arrested him and say a search revealed he was in possession of highly toxic blue Fentanyl.

The man was charged with possession of a controlled substance and breach of his probation order.

Police also say they found several prohibited knives on the driver of the rental vehicle.

The driver, a 35 year old Southampton man, was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and failure to comply with his recognizance.

Both men are in police custody pending bail hearings.
