Owen Sound Police Urge Safety on Halloween

Owen Sound | by Bayshore News Staff

City police will be highly visible tonight.

It's Halloween and with kids set to go trick-or-treating tonight, Owen Sound Police want to you to keep safety top of mind.

City police say they will be out with extra patrols this evening to observe the movement of pedestrians and ensure road safety.

Police remind parents to plan and rehearse the route their children will be taking and to ensure they are with familiar friends or family when going door-to-door.

"Reinforce to your kids they should never enter a stranger's residence or go into their yard," Owen Sound Police say in a statement.

Police also urge trick-or-treaters to maintain visibility when crossing streets. They ask you to wait for traffic lights and not to run from behind parked vehicles.

The Owen Sound Police Service says their officers will be highly visible tonight -- and even handing out goodies to revellers as well that were donated by McDonald's and Circle K.
