A tip from a security guard helped Owen Sound police nab an impaired driver last night.
City Police say a security guard at a local campus reported a male party driving erratically in the parking lot, shortly after 8 p.m. Friday evening.
Police say the security guard spoke with the male and suspected he was impaired. The security guard notified police.
Owen Sound Police say the male was given a roadside test and failed. He was then transported to the Owen Sound Police station and tested by a qualified breath technician. The man was found to be over twice the legal limit for alcohol.
The 46-year-old man was charged with impaired driving. The accused had his licence automatically suspended for 90 days and car impounded for seven days.
