Saugeen Shores Police Looking for Driver who Approached Children

The white man was driving a newer Ford F150 with an extended cab, rear tinted windows with a loud exhaust and no front plates

Saugeen Shores Police say a suspicious male was driving in what could be described as new white Ford F150 and approached two young girls in Port Elgin on Saturday afternoon.

Police say at approximately 3 pm two young girls and were approached by a male who asked them to get into his vehicle. Both girls denied this request, however the vehicle continued to drive by them. The girls sought refuge in a local business.

After several minutes the girls decided to the leave the business only to see the truck and driver again. 

They eventually made their way home and told their parents.

Police describe the man in the truck as white and between 20-40 years old.

The truck had an extended cab, rear tinted windows a loud exhaust and no front plates.

A widely shared Facebook post on Sunday stated a similar incident occurred on Saturday with what parents described as a blackSUV/ Van that had a silver roof rack.

Police are asking if anyone observes any suspicious activity please call 519-832-2500 or call 911 if it is an emergency. You may also report any information anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
