West Grey Police have charged a man with impaired driving after he reportedly crashed his pickup into a dump truck.
On Monday (Nov 4) at about 6:45a.m, West Grey Police officers were dispatched to Garafraxa Street South near South Street.
They say the driver of the pickup truck had pulled into oncoming traffic and hit the dump truck.
None of the occupants of either of the vehicles sustained any injuries from the collision.
Police say after speaking with the driver of the pickup, it was suspected he was under the influence of drugs.
The driver was arrested and after tests, was found to be impaired by drugs.
The 47 year old Durham man faces impaired driving charges.
His licence was for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
West Grey Police say despite numerous tragedies, whether by alcohol or drug people continue to be found driving while impaired.
They say if an officer suspects a driver of impairment, they can demand the driver take a Standardized Field Sobriety Test (SFST) or be tested by a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE).
They say for G1, G2, commercial drivers and those under 21, no amount of cannabis is allowed to be in their system when driving.
