A couple of southern Grey County residents have cashed in big playing the lottery.
The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation says Beverly Burgess of Holstein collected a cool $2-million for winning the jackpot in the Nov. 23, 2019 Lotto 6/49 draw.
The 57-year-old mother of two learned about her win while checking her ticket at the grocery store. She plans on buying a new vehicle and looking after her family.
Burgess purchased the lucky winner at Foodland on Arthur Street in Elmira.
William Woods of Proton Station is another recent lotto winner in Grey County.
OLG says he claimed a prize of just over $100,000 for matching five numbers and the bonus in the Dec. 18, 2019 Lotto 6/49 draw.
The 40-year-old construction worker is a married father of three. He plans to invest the winnings into his children's future.
Woods purchased his winning ticket at Colpepper's Limited on Collingwood Street in Flesherton.
