West Grey Police Have A Busy Two Weeks

Police responded to a number of assaults, laid fraud charges and did RIDE checks.

West Grey Police responded to 128 occurrences over the past two weeks.

On March 16th, officers responded to reports of a man jumping in and out of traffic on Grey Rd 4 west of Durham. He was located and transported to hospital where police say he caused damage at the hospital before fleeing. They say he was caught and returned to the hospital. The male of no fixed address was charged with Mischief and released with a court date.

On March 17th, a suspect in a reported assault on Mulock Rd, allegedly fled in a vehicle before police arrived, but was involved in a single motor vehicle crash that resulted in injuries. Police say he was arrested, charged and released with conditions once his injuries were treated at hospital.

On March 5th, an assault on Queen St N in Durham resulted in charges against a man who was released with conditions.

Police say on March 10th, they were called about an assault. A female youth was arrested, charged and released with conditions.

On the 16th, Officers executed a warrant charging a female with numerous counts related to fraud.  She remains in custody.

Police say a number of RIDE checks were also performed and there were no criminal code charges laid but a number of Highway Traffic Act charges were laid.
