OHF Hosting Return To Hockey Discussion

Provincial | by Bayshore News Staff

Registration Must Be Done Today

The Ontario Hockey Federation is inviting OHF Members, Minor Hockey Associations, Female Hockey Associations, Junior and Senior teams to join us for an OHF wide Return to Hockey discussion this Thursday, June 4th at 6:00 PM.

Joining OHF Chair of the Board (Tony Foresi) and OHF Executive Director (Phillip McKee) are special guests from Hockey Canada: Michael Brind’amour (Chair of the Board), Tom Renney (Chief Executive Officer) and Scott Smith (President & Chief Operating Officer).

The OHF has been working tirelessly with Hockey Canada and the OHF Members since the March 12th announcement to cancel the remainder of the 2019-20 hockey season. Further, the OHF remains in close contact with both the Provincial Government and the Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries to map out the OHF’s Return to Hockey once given approval to do so from both Hockey Canada and the Provincial Government in accordance with Ontario’s Emergency Order. In recent weeks, the Ontario Government began the phased re-opening of the economy which has led to a number of uncertainties within the hockey community. Our goal on Thursday is to provide a clear update as to where both Hockey Canada and the OHF stand with our plan for sanctioned programming. It is encouraged that all MHA’s, FHA’s, Junior and Senior teams have at least one representative participate in the meeting to ensure consistent messaging is relayed to their Boards and Executive. Registrants are encouraged to identify a maximum of five Return to Hockey questions they would like addressed during the meeting.

Preregistration is required to participate in the meeting and must be completed by Wednesday, June 3rd at 5:00 PM. Registration may be accessed through the Hockey Canada event page –

The meeting link will be distributed at 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 4th to all approved registrants. The content of this meeting is meant to engage administrative stakeholders connected to the OHF Return to Hockey plan, as such the meeting link is not to be shared publicly. If more than one representative from a particular MHA, FHA, Junior or Senior team wish to participate, they must register individually.
