Drug Bust in Owen Sound

Collingwood man charged, police seize drugs and cash valued at over $3,500.

An Owen Sound Police investigation into drug trafficking activities in the city's downtown core has led to the arrest of a 39-year-old Collingwood man.

The Owen Sound Police Service Drug Unit were conducting the investigation yesterday, when officers identified and arrested the man in the 900 block of 3rd Avenue East around 3:25 p.m.

Police say the man was found to be in possession of a quantity of Heroin and Methamphetamine along with cash proceeds and other drug trafficking paraphernalia.

The combined value of the seized Drugs and cash is over $3500.

The 39-year-old Collingwood man was also known to be wanted by the Town of Blue Mountains OPP, and was found to be violating his court ordered bail conditions.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing on October 11, 2017 in Owen Sound.
