Local groups have until November 30th to apply for new provincial grants that aim to help seniors stay active, health and engaged in their communities.
Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP Bill Walker is encouraging local groups to file those applications.
In the past, the grants have supported financial literacy courses, computer applications, exercise and cooking classes.
Walker says this year, the Seniors Community Grant is offering three funding streams, with the top one covering up to $100,000 for projects that are larger in scope and benefit more seniors over time.
The other grants cover individuals who represent a seniors' not-for-profit organization, local services boards, municipalities or Indigenous groups that are incorporated.
These grants range between $1,000 to $3,000.
The application form and guidelines can be found at www.ontario.ca/seniors Deadline is Nov. 30th.
