Habitat Builds To Wrap Up Soon

Grey Bruce | by Claire McCormack

Two homes in Owen Sound and one at Cape Croker should be finished by the holidays.

Two Habitat for Humanity builds in Owen Sound are projected to be complete by late November and a third one in late December.

Executive Director for Habitat Grey Bruce Greg Fryer says a rainy summer delayed the start of work and November 23rd is when work is expected to be done.

The two single-detached houses are located on 26th Street West near Keppel Sarawak School.

Fryer says they could still use both skilled and unskilled help on the builds.

Meanwhile, even if a person has no experience, Fryer says they'll be put to work, "We'll train them. There's always something for them to do."

Fryer says at the same time, they're building a single house in Cape Croker which is expected to be finished closer to Christmas and volunteers are needed for that project as well.

Fryer says signing up to help out is simple, just go to habitatgreybruce.ca and click on "book a shift" to enter you name into a calendar that suits your schedule.
