A Dundalk man has won some big bucks playing a lottery scratch ticket.
The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation says Cody Kane, 31, won $2-million from the game Instant 200X Multiplier.
Kane recently decided to cash in some smaller winning scratch tickets, and then purchased the lucky winner at the Circle K in Markdale.
“I handed the ticket to the cashier to check it,” Kane says in a release. “The ‘Big Winner’ message appeared but I didn’t know how much I won until the cashier handed me the validation slip!”
Kane, a married father of two, immediately called his wife to tell her the news. He says when she saw the photo of the $2-million validation slip, she just asking ‘are you kidding me?’ and crying harder each time she said it.
The 31-year-old has since quit his job as a satellite installer and plans to buy a new house for his growing family.
“I’ve been having a hard time sleeping because it’s been so exciting. I still feel like I’m going to wake up tomorrow and go to work. This win will absolutely change my life and the lives of my family,” Kane says.
