Grey Bruce OPP are searching for a missing swimmer.
Police say just before 4 Sunday afternoon, (Sept 13) they were dispatched to a missing person in Lake Huron at Second Avenue South, north of French Bay Road, at Saugeen First Nation.
OPP say a witness last saw the male swimmer out from shore, in distress and struggling in the waves.
OPP are being assisted at the scene by the three surrounding fire departments, South Bruce Peninsula Fire Department, Saugeen First Nation Fire Department and Saugeen Shores Fire Department, as well as the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre run by Royal Canadian Air Force and Canadian Coast Guard.
An OPP helicopter and two OPP vessels are involved in the search for the missing swimmer.
The search was put on hold at the end of the day Sunday, but police say it will resume this morning.
Grey Bruce OPP are asking the public and vessels to avoid the area at this time.
