Hanover Police were called on Saturday to mediate a conflict at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 130
The Ontario Alliance had booked the Legion to conduct a meeting to discuss and present their objection to Omnibus Bill 137.
The provincial bill is seen by Ontario Alliance as a mandatory forcing of procedures and an abuse of civil rights.
Ontario Alliance objects to the measure as it pertains to issues like mandatory face masks, social distancing, self isolation & vaccination.
Ontario Alliance Interim Leader & President Joshua Eriksen states the Hanover Legion demanded total compliance to the face mask regulations, and then denied access to the meeting room.
At that point, Hanover Police were called with 2 officers arriving and mediating the dispute.
The belief from Ontario Alliance was that the Legion’s denial was based on a rumour that there would be a follow up protest to the bill on Sunday.
Eriksen states there was no protest planned for Sunday.
