With the stay-at-home order ending in Grey Bruce, some area municipalities have announced plans to re-open town halls and public facilities.
Owen Sound’s City facilities previously closed will re-open to the public. Restrictions at the Harrison Park Good Cheer Rink have also been eased. The maximum capacity at the Harrison Park Good Cheer Rink has been increased to 25 people and shinny is once again permitted, effective Friday, February 19.
City Hall, Public Works and the Greenwood Cemetery will reopen on the 22nd.
The Julie McArthur Regional Recreation Centre, the Walking program at the Bayshore Community Centre, and the library will re-open Wednesday, February 17.
The Tom Thomson Art Gallery will re-open to the public on March 6th, launching a new exhibition and community project.
Elsewhere, the Town of South Bruce Peninsula is accepting facility rentals as of Feb. 16 at the Wiarton Arena and Sauble Beach Community Centre.
South Bruce Peninsula Town Hall, meanwhile, will accept residents for essential business — such as payment of taxes and other accounts.
In Kincardine, the municipality is aiming to open the ice surfaces and walking tracks at the Davidson Centre and Tiverton Sports Centre by Friday, Feb. 19.
Kincardine municipal staff advise the proposed re-opening date for the pool, health club and programs including fitness classes and pickleball is Feb. 22.
Georgian Bluffs has announced its administration office will re-open Tuesday for collection payments only — such as tax, water or permits. Council meetings will continue virtually.
For now, community centres and arenas in Georgian Bluffs remain closed, but the Township says opening plans will be announced in the near future.
Georgian Bluffs will lift its suspension of garbage bag tags as of March 1. After that date, they will be required again for curbside pick-up of waste.
