Provincial Police are looking for tips to help idenitfy the driver of a sport utility vehicle involved in two collisions in Georgian Bluffs yesterday afternoon.
Grey Bruce OPP, Grey County EMS and Inter-Township firefighters were called to a collision involving a cyclist on Grey Road 1 near Indian Acres Road at about 3 p.m. Monday.
OPP say the driver of the vehicle that hit the cyclist fled to scene.
The cyclist was transported to hospital with injuries police describe as serious, but not life-threatening.
Meanwhile, the same driver was apparently involved in another collision in Georgian Bluffs shortly after.
Grey Bruce OPP say what is believed to be the same vehicle was involved in a collision involving a stationary car on Balmy Beach Road around 3:30 p.m.
The driver fled the scene again. No one was hurt in the second incident.
OPP advise an increased police presence can be expected in the area as the investigation continues.
The Grey Bruce OPP, OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team (TIME), West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and OPP Aviation Services remain in the area.
Police are looking for a red sport utility vehicle, possibly a Toyota Rav 4 or Nissan Qashqai. The motor vehicle will have damage to the passenger side, including a mirror which may be hanging off or missing.
Anyone with information relating to these two incidents is asked to call Grey Bruce OPP or Crime Stoppers.
Police say further updates will be released as more information becomes available.
