The Town of Saugeen Shores is informing residents they must show proof of vaccination to access local facilities.
A release notes, starting Sept. 22, fully vaccinated residents will need to show their vaccination receipt or medical exemption, as well as valid I.D. to access any indoor town programs and facilities.
Anyone 12 and above will need to show proof for any recreation programs and activities, outside of organized sports, while also providing proof for spectator and viewing areas, recreational fitness areas, sporting events, and indoor meeting and event spaces.
Anyone under the age of 18 who enters a facility for the purpose of participating in an organized sport program, including sports leagues, organized pick-up sports, competitive swimming and swimming lessons are exempt from this requirement.
This also extends to those seeking a washroom, except at recreational facilities, accessing an outdoor area from an indoor route, making a retail purchase, placing or picking up an order, paying for an order, and purchasing admission.
Anyone with a medical exemption from a doctor must include the reason for the exemption and any time limits.
The release notes as the province is creating a digital certificate and exemption platform, residents are to bring a physical or digital copy of their vaccine receipt or medical exemption with them until then.
To download your vaccine receipt, visit the Ontario Health portal by using your green health card and postal code. Anyone with a red and white health card, or no health card must call 1-833-943-3900.
