A freezing rain warning is in place for Grey Bruce today.
Environment Canada says freezing rain is expected to develop this morning and will begin to change to showers in the afternoon. However, over the higher terrain of the Dundalk highlands, freezing rain may persist through the evening.
Forecasters say the freezing rain could cause four to eight millimetres of ice build-up.
Strong easterly winds are gusting up to 70 km/h are also expected on Wednesday, leading to possible local power outages.
Environment Canada advises surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots will become icy, slippery and hazardous.
“Ice build-up may cause tree branches to break. Utility outages may occur,” says Environment Canada.
