Some off-road motorcycles are going to be allowed to use part of Grey County’s rail trail.
The county has agreed to a one-year trial with the Ontario Federation of Trail Riders and the local chapter club (the Dufferin Rooftop Recreational Riders) to permit the motorized vehicles on the rail trail between Rockford and Dundalk.
ATV riders are already allowed on that stretch of the multi-use trail.
“To use the trail, riders must be insured, plated for trail use, have an OFTR permit, and be no louder than 94 decibels,” a statement from Grey County explains. “Both motorcycle and ATV riders are also required to adhere to posted trail signage including speed limits.”
