The Township of Georgian Bluffs is denouncing discriminatory letters that are being sent to local residents for flying the Pride flag.
The township says that they were saddened to learn about the letters, which were sent to members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, and their allies.
In recent weeks, residents in the area have been receiving anonymous letters with discriminatory messages, typically addressed to “Prideman.”
Police have advised to not open the letters, but to instead contact local authorities to report it, or to reach out to Grey Bruce Pride.
The township is also urging residents to condemn the actions and support one another.
Georgian Bluffs council also took time to thank Grey Bruce Pride, saying that they appreciate the group’s advocacy for inclusion.
