The Town of South Bruce Peninsula is looking for entrepreneurs to “bring their business dreams to life” in a space in Wiarton’s Bluewater Park.
The Town is looking for bids for a leasing opportunity at Coal Shed Unit 1 at 402 William Street, which was previously Dockside Willie’s restaurant.
“We are open to all business proposals,” says Manager of Economic Development and Corporate Communications Danielle Edwards, noting there are all kinds of possibilities, whether that’s a cafe, a boutique shop, creative hub or something else. “It’s an underutilized space in a gem of a park,” says Edwards.
A post from the Town says, “Nestled along the Niagara Escarpment overlooking Colpoy’s Bay, this location offers more than just a space – it’s an experience waiting to be shaped by your vision.”
Edwards says the Town is currently renovating the space and it will have a new floor, new LED lighting, new air conditioning and ductless heat.
The space is 1,440 square feet with a large patio outside overlooking the park and the water.
They say sealed bids will be accepted until 3 p.m. December 29th through the Town of South Bruce Peninsula’s Bids & Tenders System online.
Bluewater Park is a Town owned property just off the downtown which features a former train station and visitor centre, campground, a long stretch of waterfront along Colpoy’s bay, a marina, boat launch, baseball diamond, playground, brand new bandshell, swimming pool and other amenities.
Edwards says the space is equipped for all seasons, noting, “Wiarton is a year-round place. It’s open to a business that can thrive year round.”
