Public Health Grey Bruce says the water at Kelso Beach at Nawash Park is now safe to swim in.
Public Health, in consultation with the City of Owen Sound, lifted the swim advisory on Thursday, July 25th, after water samples taken at the beach earlier this week showed bacterial levels had returned to within Ontario Ministry of Health guidelines for swimming.
The beach had been posted as unsafe for swimming on Friday, July 19th, due to bacterial levels exceeding those guidelines.
Public Health says people who swim, play in, or use beach water that has high bacteria levels are at an increased risk of getting sick or an infection.
