Owen Sound Attack forward Pierce Mbuyi is among the nominees for the Canadian Hockey League’s Rookie of the Year award.
Mbuyi, 17, won the Emms Family Award as the Ontario Hockey League’s Rookie of the Year for the 2024-25 season, after a stellar first campaign in the league with the Attack in which he led all OHL rookies with 29 goals and 52 points. His points total also set a new “true rookie” scoring record for the Attack.
Landon DuPont of the Everett Silvertips (WHL) and Matvei Gridin of the Shawinigan Cataractes (QMJHL) are the other nominees for the CHL’s Rookie of the Year nod.
The winner will be announced during the CHL Awards ceremony on Friday.
