The results are in for the 2025 Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation Chief and Council Election.
Residents headed to the polls yesterday at the community centre to elect nine councillors after Darlene Johnston was acclaimed as Chief.
She was set to take on the role after Steven Lavalley withdrew his name as candidate.
The nine elected councillors include Tony Chegahno, Darren Johnston, Prin Johnston, Paul Jones, Jessica Keeshig-Martin, Janine Manning, Greg Nadjiwon, Nick Saunders, and Norma Tobey.
There were nearly 30 candidates vying for a council seat this election.
