Hanover Police are seeking a man wanted in connection with a string of cosmetics thefts.
On January 12th, 2026, police received a report of a theft from a franchised pharmacy in Hanover where a male suspect stole over $3,000 of cosmetics.
The same suspect stole similar merchandise prior from pharmacies in Mount Forest and Listowel.
Hanover Police investigators working in partnership with other policing partners across Ontario, corporate security specialists and Canada Border Services, have obtained an arrest warrant for a 32-year-old Romanian National, who’s wanted on charges of Theft Under $5000 and Possession of Stolen Property.
A second male suspect involved in the Hanover theft has since been identified and will face similar charges once police investigators seek an arrest warrant. The names of these suspects are being withheld as police investigations remain active and ongoing across Ontario.
Police say an organized theft ring of professional shoplifters based in the Greater Toronto Area are responsible for almost half a million dollars of stolen merchandise from these franchised pharmacies across Ontario since January of 2025.
Hanover Police have previously charged members of this criminal organization for similar shoplifting thefts in Hanover where they targeted pharmacies and other ‘big box’ retail stores. Those suspects remain wanted and their whereabouts are not currently known.
Police are reminding local businesses to educate their employees on theft prevention and detection, ensure their surveillance cameras are operating properly and report any suspicious activity to police immediately that includes suspect descriptions, suspect vehicles and their direction of travel.
