The last Household Hazardous Waste Event for Owen Sound this year goes today (Saturday, Oct. 24) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Public Works Facility, located at 1900 20th St. E.
Residents are asked to bring valid ID indicating their home address in one of the participating municipalities listed below and to complete the Household Hazardous Waste Form ahead of time.
This event is open to residents from the following participating partner municipalities:
– City of Owen Sound
– Township of Chatsworth
– Township of Georgian Bluffs
– Municipality of Grey Highlands
– Municipality of Meaford
Hazardous waste from commercial, industrial or farm operations is not accepted. A full list of accepted materials is available at OwenSound.ca/Waste.
Please note that the following items are also not accepted:
– Infectious waste (such as syringes; visit OwenSound.ca for information about sharps disposal)
– Radioactive waste
– Explosives (ammunition, flares, gunpowder)
– Unidentified waste (unlabelled items)
– Improperly contained waste (compromised containers, missing lids, leaking materials)
