Badgers win Championship at Big Bruce Volleyball Club Tournament
After two years of restrictions as a result of the COVID situation, Big Bruce Volleyball has been able to restart at Chesley District Community School.
After 6 weeks of practices, the Club held its first tournament on Sunday.
After round robin games and playoffs, the Badgers captained by Baxter Legace and the Rattlers captained by Ryan Renaud qualified for the championship final.
In the final, the Badgers superior serving and consistent serve receive were key to helping them win a hard fought match over the Rattlers by scores of 25-20 & 25 -20.
The victorious Badgers received the coveted championship white hats as a symbol of their victory.
Members of the Badgers were: Baxter Legace (captain), Liam Strong, Alex Harris, Parker Davis, Hayden Oberle, Christian Evans, Tyler Siekierzycki, Mark Labriola and coach, Tim Smith.
The tournament sponsor was 8X8 Beach Apparel from Wiarton.
The next Big Bruce Club tournament is scheduled for Saturday, May 28th .
