To help inform you about some of the perspectives of candidates running for mayor and council in the upcoming municipal election, Bayshore Broadcasting News sent a few questions to all those seeking office in municipalities across Grey and Bruce counties.
In Grey Highlands, candidates were asked:
1) Why are you running?
2) Are there any steps municipalities can take to help ease cost of
living concerns?
3) What are your ideas for economic development in your municipality?
4) Do you think the municipality has a role to play in the recruitment
and retention of physicians and other healthcare workers?
5) What would you like to see for land development in Grey Highlands?
6) What would you like to see for community safety and well-being?
Mayoral candidates Danielle Valiquette and Paul McQueen did not submit responses to this questionnaire prior to the publication deadline, nor did Melanie Ann Seeley, who is a candidate for Deputy Mayor.
Dan Wickens, Paul Allen, Gary Franklin, Nadia Dubyk, Jessica Hammond, Roger Tunninieri, Lorraine Ann O’Halloran, and John van Goch, who are all running for council, did not submit responses prior to the deadline. Joyce Hall has withdrawn from the race but was not able to be removed from the ballot.
