No one was hurt in a house fire south of Big Bay early this morning.
South Bruce Peninsula and Inter-Township firefighters, OPP and Grey County paramedics responded to the incident around midnight and were on scene early Thursday morning.
Inter-Township fire chief Jeff Gautreau says crews arrived at a two-storey home on Grey Road 1 near Centennial Park to find it fully-engulfed, with flames bursting through the roof.
A couple who lives in the home managed to evacuate safely.
South Bruce Peninsula fire chief Tim Wilson says both departments battled the blaze through the morning hours until the South Bruce Peninsula department was released and the Inter-Township Fire department remained on the scene.
There’s no immediate damage estimate, but Gautreau says the house was fully involved and suffered extensive damage from the blaze.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Gautreau says it is not considered suspicious.
