The Bluewater District School Board is putting the former Georgian Bay Community School sports field and track on the market.
The board’s business committee is recommending the property at 87 Aiken Street in Meaford be made available for public sale.
Trustees have already deemed the property surplus.
Bluewater District School Board Superintendent of Business Services and Treasurer Rob Cummings says there were no bids received during a required process when the property was offered to other public sector organizations.
“We’d like to move forward with the next steps, which would be readying that property for sale,” Cummings explains.
The new Georgian Bay Community School in Meaford — on Grey Road 7 — opened its doors at the start of the 2021 school year.
