The search continues today for five missing crew members of a Canadian Military helicopter that crashed off the coast of Greece.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said during a news conference yesterday that six people were aboard the Cyclone helicopter that went down in the Mediterranean Sea on Wednesday night, as the aircraft was returning to the Halifax-based frigate HMCS Fredericton from a NATO training mission.
The Canadian Armed Forces has identified the missing crew members as:
-Sub-Lt. Matthew Pyke from Truro, N.S.
-Master Cpl. Matthew Cousins from Guelph, Ont.
-Capt Brenden Ian MacDonald from New Glasgow, N.S.
-Capt Kevin Hagen from Nanaimo, B.C.
-Capt Maxime Miron-Morin, from Trois-Rivieres, Que.
The body of Sub-lieutenant Abbigail Cowbrough from Dartmouth has already been recovered.
Minister of Defence Harjit Sajjan says the flight data recorder and the voice recorder have been found, but the cause of Wednesday night’s crash is still unknown.
