Hanover fire department is celebrating after their annual awards and promotion event.
During their award event, they recognized Captain Chris Karcher for his 25 years of service. Hagan was also promoted along with several others.
They also celebrated Deputy Chief Rob Hagan and Operator Andy Smart for their 20 years with the department.
The fire department was also able to celebrate the promotion of five recruits who started training in 2024.
During the event, Chief Jeff Dentinger was given the prestigious Terry McDonald Memorial Award, by the Firefighters’ Association. The award is named for the late Deputy Chief Terry McDonald, who served with the Hanover Fire Department for 27 years from 1984 to 2011, and passed away in 2022. It’s the third year that the award has been presented to a member that embodies Deputy Chief McDonald’s character, courage and dedication.
