The City of Owen Sound is closing a road this weekend for Earth Day festivities.
On April 26 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., the 800 block of 1st Avenue West will be fully closed to vehicular traffic.
Pedestrians will still be able to access the road and businesses, with parking available in nearby municipal parking lots and along the street.
The Earth Day Grey-Bruce organization says the festivities will kick off at 11 a.m. with a Queen’s Park Water Ceremony with Elder Shirley John and the M’Wikwedong drummers.
There will also be live music with youth bands, a green economy fair starting at noon, various presentations and youth climate action projects, poetry, and a parade at 2:30 p.m.
