The Hanover Barons are one win away from capturing the Schmalz Cup.
Shallow Lake’s Derek Hartley made 35 saves and shutout the Essex 73s, as the Barons skated to a 4-0 win in Game 3 of the Provincial Junior Hockey League championship Wednesday evening at the P&H Centre.
Hanover now leads the series 3-0.
Kyle Maloney, Alex McGillivray, Mark McIntosh and Erick Gulutzen scored for the Barons.
The series shifts back to Essex for Game 4 Saturday afternoon, when the Barons have a chance to complete the sweep and lift the Schmalz Cup.
