Provincial Police have charged a 39-year-old man after an alleged robbery in Wiarton.
Grey Bruce OPP officers were called to a report of an assault in progress at Wiarton’s Bluewater Park around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
“Police received information that the accused had been found inside a parked vehicle. When confronted, the accused became agitated and aggressive, yelling and ultimately shoving the victim to the ground. The victim did not sustain any injuries,” Grey Bruce OPP say in a release. “During the incident, the accused also stole property from the vehicle before fleeing the area on foot.”
Police say the suspect was located and arrested.
A 39-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with robbery with violence and resist peace officer. The accused is the same man facing arson charges in relation to separate suspicious fires in the Oliphant area this month.
