A new baseball tournament for a cause was staged in Grey Bruce this past weekend.
Grey Bruce OPP say members of the justice sector from across Grey and Bruce counties came together in Desboro for the first Annual Justice League Charity Baseball Tournament, initiated by the Grey Bruce Crown Attorney’s Office.
OPP, lawyers, court staff, probation officers, members from the victim and witness assistance program, other justice partners in a friendly tournament.
OPP say, “After a day of teamwork, laughter, and some surprisingly good swings, the OPP took home the championship title.”
As winners, OPP earned the honour of donating the tournament proceeds of $1,000 to a charity of their choice.
The donation was made to Grey Bruce Hospice Chapman House, which provides compassionate end-of-life care to families in the community.
OPP add, “The Justice League tournament is already shaping up to be a new annual tradition.”
