Saugeen Shores Police Service took a report of a disturbance in the town of Southampton this past week.
Police arrived and learned that a domestic assault had occurred.
Police entered the residence and attempted to place the male under arrest. At that time he became violent with officers and grabbed hold of one of the officers firearms attempting to disarm him.
Officers were able to control the male and escort him to the police vehicle. The male continued to kick at and spit at police.
As a result of this investigation a 39-year old male has been charged with Assault, Assault Peace Officer, Disarming Peace Officer, Failure to comply with Probation, Mischief, Resist Peace Officer and Uttering Threats to Cause Death.
He was held for a bail hearing and remanded into custody.
