The Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre is marking Black History Month with a special community art project later this month.
On February 28, renowned artist, author, and President’s Poet Nadine Williams will lead an interactive workshop inviting residents to help create a collaborative community quilt.
The project honours the United Nations’ International Decade for People of African Descent.
Participants will create individual art tiles reflecting identity and personal experience, with no prior art skills required.
The completed quilt will be unveiled in August and become a permanent installation at the museum.
The free workshop is open to ages eight and up, but pre-registration is required.
