The TC Transcontinental Owen Sound Girls U11 Field Lacrosse North Stars came ready to play and delivered two strong performances on the field over the weekend.
In Game 1, the North Stars took on the Oakville Lady Hawks and came away with a strong 16–9 win. Dani Adair led the offence with seven goals, while Ennah Taverner added three. Lily Barnard and Emily Gladwell each scored a pair, and Piper Coburn and Logan Quaid chipped in with one goal apiece.
The North Stars then took on the Burlington Blaze in what proved to be an exciting back-and-forth battle. The game remained close throughout all four quarters, with neither team willing to give an inch. When the final whistle sounded, the North Stars had edged ahead by a single goal, securing a hard-fought 13–12 victory. Leading the way offensively was Dani Adair with five goals, while Grace Gunn and Tae Wilson each found the back of the net twice. Piper Coburn, Emily Gladwell, and Ennah Taverner added one goal each to complete the scoring.
Goalie Aniya Sutch was outstanding in net in both games, but her performance in the second game was especially crucial, making key saves that helped secure the victory.
