An evening of dancing, friendly competition, and community spirit returns to Kincardine on Nov. 7 for Big Brothers Big Sisters South Bruce North Huron’s (BBBS SBNH) annual gala fundraiser, Dancing with the Stars.
Debuting in 2019, Dancing with the Stars has raised more than $130,000 in support of youth programs in the region. Funds raised through the event help Big Brothers Big Sisters provide young people with access to caring adult mentors and the benefits of positive, supportive relationships.
Dancing with the Stars pairs community members with experienced dancers, challenging participants to learn and perform ballroom routines in a few short months. While the dancing provides plenty of entertainment and friendly competition, the focus of the evening remains on raising funds to support local youth.
“Dancing with the Stars has become such a special event for our community,” says BBBS SBNH board president and DWTS Chair Linda Johnson. “The incredible support we receive from participants, sponsors, volunteers, and everyone who attends allows us to continue supporting and investing in young people right here in our communities. The dancing is what brings everyone together, but the impact goes far beyond the dance floor.”
BBBS SBNH serves young people and families across a large geographic area, including Kincardine, Ripley, South Bruce, and communities throughout northern Huron County. The organization provides a range of mentoring programs designed to help young people build confidence, develop social skills, and create meaningful connections.
